Full Field for The 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush: Complete List of Qualifiers and Exemptions

The 153rd Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush, where a strong field led by hometown favorite Rory McIlroy and defending champion Xander Schauffele will battle for the iconic Claret Jug. Check out the full list of qualifiers and exemptions for this year’s tournament.

The 153rd edition of The Open Championship is set to unfold at the historic Royal Portrush Golf Club, nestled along Northern Ireland’s stunning north coast. Local hero Rory McIlroy will be a crowd favorite as he returns to compete on home soil, while Scottie Scheffler, already a three-time winner and major champion this year, will look to continue his dominant form. Defending champion Xander Schauffele comes in aiming to add a third major title to his résumé after triumphing last year. Notably, the last time Royal Portrush hosted The Open in 2019, Shane Lowry emerged victorious in memorable fashion.

Players qualify for The Open through a variety of exemption categories established by The R&A. Below is the official field for the 153rd Open Championship as of Wednesday, July 2.
