Messi’s magnetic presence helped set a new attendance record for the Revolution with 65,612 fans gathering at Gillette Stadium, marking it as the second-highest attended soccer game at the venue, owned by Robert Kraft. As the match approached its conclusion, Messi acknowledged the crowd’s roaring appreciation during a stoppage before the final whistle.

New England’s coach, Caleb Porter, expressed his admiration and slight frustration post-match, stating,
