Sophomore Nathan Taylor struck out nine over seven strong innings, and freshmen Quinton Coats and Derrick Pitts combined for four RBIs to lead No. 8 seed Cincinnati past Texas Tech, 6–5, in the opening round of the Big 12 Championship. The Bearcats advance to face top-seeded West Virginia on Thursday.
