Fever vs. Aces: Kelsey Mitchell Scores 27, Hits 25-Plus for a Sixth Straight Game in 109-75 Indiana Rout
Kelsey Mitchell scored 27 for a sixth straight game of 25 or more and Caitlin Clark reached 600 assists as the Indiana Fever blew out the Las Vegas Aces 109-75.

On Saturday, the Las Vegas Aces beat Phoenix by 48. On Sunday, in the same building, the Indiana Fever hung 109 on them, and anyone who bought tickets to both games got the full range of the human experience in about 27 hours.
Indiana won 109-75 at Michelob ULTRA Arena, never trailing and leading by as many as 34. Kelsey Mitchell scored 27, making her the fifth player in WNBA history with at least 25 points in six consecutive games. Caitlin Clark, on a minutes restriction, needed only 24 minutes to post 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and she collected a league milestone on her way to the bench.
Las Vegas Got Close Exactly Twice
Indiana took control from the opening possessions. Mitchell had nine in a first quarter that ended 31-22, and by halftime it was 59-48, a total that tied the Fever's highest-scoring first half this season. The numbers behind it were silly: 22 of 37 from the field, 7 of 13 from three and 8 of 8 at the line. Mitchell and Aliyah Boston accounted for 35 of the 59 by themselves, 20 for Mitchell and 15 for Boston.
The Aces did push back. Jackie Young scored inside, A'ja Wilson cleaned up her own miss, and Young's three a little over a minute into the third made it a four-point game. Later, Dana Evans, playing for the first time this season, knocked down a three that got Las Vegas within 66-62 with 3:28 left in the quarter.
That was the last of the competitive portion of the evening. Indiana outscored the Aces 43-13 from that moment to the horn, which is the sort of finish you usually see only when somebody has unplugged one team's controller.
Mitchell's Streak, Clark's Milestone
Mitchell's night came on 8-of-16 shooting, 3 of 8 from deep and a perfect 8 of 8 at the line, all in 30 minutes. Her game log tells the bigger story: 30, 26, 27, 29, 29 and now 27. Only Wilson, Tina Charles, Arike Ogunbowale and Maya Moore have managed a run like that, and the Fever note that only Charles (seven games) and Wilson (eight) have gone longer. Mitchell also passed Katie Douglas for the seventh-most 3-pointers made in WNBA history with her first-quarter three, per the team, moving to 729 by the end of the night.
Clark didn't need a shooting night to matter. She made 5 of 11 from the field and just 1 of 5 from behind the arc, with four turnovers, while working under the restriction as she recovers from a lingering back injury. Her sixth assist, feeding Monique Billings with 24.1 seconds left in the third, was career No. 600, and no one in WNBA history has gotten there faster, according to the Fever. It took her 72 games.
Boston was quietly excellent with 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals on 9-of-14 shooting. And then there was Sophie Cunningham, who came off the bench and made 6 of 7 threes for 20 points in 23 minutes, tying her season high in made threes and finishing plus-30. Tyasha Harris, her running mate on the second unit, had 10 points and a game-best plus-35.
Wilson finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, but it took her 23 shots to get there, and she got very little help. Young had 15 on 4-of-8 shooting and Chelsea Gray went for nine with five turnovers. Jewell Loyd and Evans both had eight off the bench and were a combined minus-64. Justine Pissott, the story of Saturday's rout, scored two on 1-of-5 shooting.
From 66-62 to Good Night
If you want the exact moment the game broke, it's the 1:25 mark of the third. Indiana led 71-64 at that point, a comfortable lead but not a fatal one. Then came 15 unanswered points that stretched across the quarter break and made it 86-64 with 7:44 left in the fourth. Las Vegas went 3:41 of game time without scoring, in its own gym, against a team it has now seen twice in eight days.
What made it brutal was how many people got involved. Cunningham scored six in the third, Clark's milestone feed to Billings came in the middle of the run, and by the fourth the Fever were raining threes. Cunningham hit from 26 feet and 28 feet in the final five minutes, Harris from 24, and Raven Johnson closed the scoring with five points in the final 1:21. A 29-11 fourth quarter is what surrender looks like on a stat sheet.
The Numbers That Mattered
- 3-pointers: Indiana 15 of 31 (48 percent), Las Vegas 4 of 17 (24 percent). That's a 33-point gap from deep.
- Field goals: Indiana 38 of 68, Las Vegas 27 of 69.
- Bench points: Indiana 41, Las Vegas 22.
- Defensive rebounds: Indiana 30, Las Vegas 19.
- Free throws: Indiana 18 of 19, Las Vegas 17 of 20.
Where Things Stand
The Fever improve to 14-9 and 6-5 on the road. They close a four-game road swing at 3-1 and head home to host Golden State on Wednesday with Mitchell rolling and a bench that just outscored Las Vegas' by 19.
The Aces drop to 17-7 and 7-5 at home. The loss knocked them a half-game behind WNBA-leading Minnesota and into a second-place tie with the Valkyries, as the AP laid out. The bigger concern is the opponent. Indiana has now won in this building twice in eight days, 84-68 on July 5 and this one, by a combined 50 points.
The House Always Wins, Allegedly
Las Vegas, of all places, should understand how this works. You can walk in on a hot streak, you can feel great about Saturday, and you can still get cleaned out by Sunday night because the other side simply has better odds. For eight days in July, the Fever have been the house. The Aces just kept pulling up a chair.
