Charlotte FC scored three times in a 13-minute span of the second half to come from behind and defeat D.C. United 3-1 on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium.

D.C. United struck first against the run of play. Louis Munteanu finished a João Peglow set piece in the 55th minute to break a scoreless deadlock, his sixth goal of the season. The visitors had pushed the hosts for long stretches before that, forcing a string of first-half corners and a pair of point-blank saves out of Kristijan Kahlina on Jackson Hopkins.

Charlotte answered emphatically. David Schnegg leveled the match in the 65th minute, Will Cleary headed home three minutes later, and Pep Biel finished the comeback in the 83rd minute to seal the 3-1 win.

A Relentless 13 Minutes

The equalizer sparked a decisive stretch. After Schnegg's finish pulled Charlotte level, Cleary's header put the hosts ahead in the 68th minute, and Biel's late strike removed any doubt. D.C. kept pushing to the final whistle, winning three corners in stoppage time and nearly pulling one back through a Munteanu header in the 89th minute.

The win moved Charlotte to 9-7-5 and 32 points on the season, while D.C. United fell to 5-7-9 and 24 points. The result extended Charlotte's edge in the all-time regular-season series.

For D.C., Peglow added an assist to six defensive contributions over 86 minutes, while defender Lucas Bartlett recorded seven clearances and seven recoveries across the full 90.

Charlotte FC's victory was its second over D.C. United this season. The clubs meet again at Audi Field on September 19.
