FC Dallas walked into Audi Field on Saturday night without a road win this season. It walked out with the second-largest road win in the club's history.

Logan Farrington, Patrickson Delgado, Osaze Urhoghide and Petar Musa all scored as Dallas hammered D.C. United 4-0 in Washington. According to FC Dallas, the only bigger road win in club history was a 5-0 result at the San Jose Earthquakes on Aug. 16, 2014. Dallas climbs to 3-2-1 with 11 points, while D.C. drops to 2-1-3 with 7.

Fast Break, Then a Dagger Before the Break

D.C. actually landed the first punch. Tai Baribo got his head on a João Peglow delivery in the 6th minute and forced Michael Collodi into a save. That was about as good as it got for the hosts in the opening quarter hour.

In the 16th minute, Dallas turned defense into offense in a blink. Ramiro, the club's captain, threaded a through ball on the break, and Farrington took it in stride and finished left-footed into the bottom left corner. FC Dallas said it was his fourth goal of the season and the first time in his career that he has scored in back-to-back MLS regular-season matches.

D.C. did not fold. Lucas Bartlett, the Black-and-Red captain, became a one-man set-piece problem: he headed wide in the 23rd minute, then forced Collodi into a save with another header in the 41st, and Brandon Servania tested the Dallas keeper from distance moments later. The equalizer felt close.

Then came the knockout blow. Bartlett was booked in the 45th minute, and in the first minute of stoppage time Delgado curled a right-footed free kick into the top left corner. D.C. United's own recap said Ramiro earned the foul just outside the box. Instead of heading to the locker room a goal down and buzzing, D.C. went in 2-0 down and deflated.

A Second Half of Missed Chances and Cold Finishing

René Weiler's side kept swinging after the restart. Bartlett had a header from very close range saved in the 53rd minute, Baribo headed wide in the 56th, and substitute Louis Munteanu sent a header high and wide in the 62nd. D.C. also lost two players to injury, with Sean Nealis leaving in the 60th minute and Baribo in the 68th, which did nothing for its rhythm.

Dallas, meanwhile, waited for its moments. Joaquín Valiente came off the bench in the 71st minute and delivered seven minutes later: his corner found Urhoghide in the middle of the box, and the center back headed into the bottom left corner for 3-0. Dallas says it was Urhoghide's first goal of the season.

The last word belonged to Musa. In the first minute of stoppage time, he finished left-footed from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, unassisted. Santiago Moreno, making his FC Dallas debut after coming on in the 85th minute, still found time for three shots, two of them on target.

Musa and the Dallas Front Line

Musa is on a heater. That was his seventh goal of the season, and the AP noted it tied him for the league lead with Nashville SC's Sam Surridge, who played later Saturday. FC Dallas added that Musa has scored in three straight games and has five goals across those three matches. The fact sheets back it up: a hat trick against San Diego FC, the winner against Houston Dynamo FC, and now this. He took four shots and put three on target here, and the AP said he now has 41 goals through his first 66 MLS matches. Those are numbers that make defenders lose sleep.

Farrington continues to be the perfect running mate, the guy who stretches the field so Musa can feast. Delgado's free kick was his first goal of the season, and Dallas noted it was the club's first goal from a free kick in 44 matches. Urhoghide, meanwhile, scored and anchored a back three that cleared 41 balls.

And give Collodi his flowers. He made four saves, two of them on Bartlett headers, for his second clean sheet of the season.

The Turning Point

Stoppage time of the first half. D.C. had just spent five minutes winning set pieces and forcing saves, and a 1-0 game at the break would have felt like a coin flip. Delgado's free kick turned it into a two-goal hole, and D.C. never recovered. In a match where the home side actually had slightly more of the ball, that single strike flipped the entire emotional temperature at Audi Field.

Stats That Matter

  • Shots on target: Dallas put 8 of its 15 shots on goal. D.C. managed 4 of 11.
  • Possession: Nearly even, with D.C. at 50.7% and Dallas at 49.3%, which makes the scoreline even more brutal.
  • Saves: Collodi made 4 saves; Sean Johnson made 3 for D.C.
  • Clearances: Dallas cleared the ball 41 times to D.C.'s 25, soaking up pressure and then pouncing.
  • Crosses: D.C. attempted 28 crosses but completed just 8.

What It Means

For Dallas, this was the club's first road win of 2026, per FC Dallas, and its second straight victory after a 4-3 win over Houston. At 3-2-1, the team has a striker in red-hot form, a strike partner scoring in back-to-back games and a goalkeeper with two clean sheets in six matches. St. Louis CITY SC visits Toyota Stadium next.

D.C. United is in a tougher spot at 2-1-3. The Black-and-Red created enough in this game to score, but set pieces at both ends told the story: Bartlett could not finish his, and Dallas buried two of its own. The trip to New England on Saturday, April 11, is a chance to reset.

Closing Take

This felt like one of those Ocean's Eleven heists where the crew looks relaxed the whole time. D.C. pushed, probed and kept the ball, and Dallas just kept walking out the door with the valuables. Four goals, the second-biggest road win in club history, and a striker tied for the league scoring lead. Not a bad night of work.
