Ravens vs. Falcons: Tyler Huntley's 'Snoop Game' and Kyle Hamilton's OT Pick Stun Atlanta in Week 5
Tyler Huntley forced overtime with a late touchdown pass and then scored on a sneak as the Ravens beat the Falcons 30-23, with Kyle Hamilton's interception sealing it.

Down eight with 2:31 left. On the road. On Sunday night television. Lamar Jackson in street clothes on the sideline. That is the part of the movie where most teams start packing up the equipment bags, and the Baltimore Ravens instead handed the script to their backup quarterback.
Tyler Huntley threw the tying touchdown with 40 seconds left in regulation, Derrick Henry took a direct snap in for the 2-point conversion, and Huntley pushed in from the 1 in overtime as the Ravens beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-23 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kyle Hamilton, who grew up in Atlanta, sealed it in overtime by intercepting Tua Tagovailoa.
Atlanta Spent Three Quarters Holding the Pen
For most of the night, the Falcons looked like the team with the plan. Baltimore hogged the ball early, holding it for just over 17 of the first 21 minutes by the Ravens' own count, and still trailed 7-6 because of one cruel bounce. Safety Sydney Brown knocked the ball loose from Mark Andrews after a catch, and Jessie Bates III scooped it and ran 36 yards the other way.
Michael Penix Jr. went 0-for-4 through Atlanta's first three possessions, then found his rhythm all at once. He completed all five of his throws on a 78-yard march that featured a 25-yarder to Drake London and a 36-yard shot to Jahan Dotson, and he finished it with a 5-yard touchdown to Kyle Pitts Sr. Tyler Loop answered with his second 51-yard field goal of the half as time expired, and Atlanta led 14-9 at the break despite getting outgained.
The third quarter added a cameo nobody saw coming. Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews, making his 200th consecutive start, reported as eligible near the goal line and got both hands on a Penix lob before it sailed incomplete. Atlanta settled for a Nick Folk field goal. Baltimore responded with a 47-yard Justice Hill run out of a fullback alignment and an 18-yard screen that Henry took to the house, but a failed 2-point pass left it 17-15.
After a fourth-down stop and a Baltimore three-and-out, the Falcons went full grinder. A 16-play, 74-yard drive bled 8:26 off the clock and ended in a Folk 34-yarder. Xavier Watts broke up a third-down throw to Andrews with a big hit to force a Baltimore punt, and Folk's 48-yarder made it 23-15 with 2:31 to go.
Snoop Szn Is Officially Back
Huntley's final line reads 24 of 32 for 201 yards, two touchdown passes, zero interceptions and a rushing score. The Ravens' site noted he completed his last 11 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown, and that he has won his last three starts dating back to 2025. His coach did not sound surprised.
"There's not a locker room in the NFL that has more confidence in their backup quarterback than we have in Snoop," coach Jesse Minter said.
Huntley kept his own review short. "I was just doing my job," he said.
Henry did the heavy lifting in every sense: 102 yards on 24 carries against what the AP called the Falcons' top-ranked run defense, an 18-yard touchdown catch, and the tying conversion. Hamilton finished with the interception, six tackles and a pass defensed, and safety Malaki Starks led the team with 10 tackles, two for loss. Loop went 3-for-3, and per the team he is now 5-of-5 on attempts from at least 50 yards this season.
Atlanta had its stars, too. London caught seven passes for 118 yards, Bijan Robinson ran for 86 and caught four balls for 32 more, and Penix threw for 240 yards and a touchdown before a rib injury sidelined him for overtime.
Forty Seconds, Two Points and a Direct Snap
Baltimore's tying drive covered 71 yards in 1:51, with Huntley completing six passes along the way. Rashod Bateman's 20-yard catch reached the Atlanta 7, and Falcons cornerback Mike Hughes was hurt on the play. On the next snap, Huntley went after backup cornerback Mike Ford and hit Devontez Walker for a 7-yard score, Walker's first touchdown of the season. Henry took the direct snap, ran left and tied it at 23.
On Atlanta's final possession of regulation, Tavius Robinson sacked Penix, who was hurt on the play. That pressed Tagovailoa into his first action of the season, and in overtime he had to stand and watch Baltimore chew through a 14-play, 68-yard drive. Henry kept moving the chains, Huntley sneaked it in on second down from the 1, and the Falcons got one possession to answer. Tagovailoa hit London for 20 yards, then Hamilton jumped the next throw intended for London, and that was that.
"That is a game that we have lost many times," Hamilton said. "That is just us getting over some sort of hump or dark cloud. I am excited for the future."
The Numbers That Swung It
- 208: Baltimore rushing yards. The Ravens noted Atlanta entered the night allowing a league-best 48.3 rushing yards per game.
- 73: Hill's rushing yards on just four carries.
- 9 of 17: Atlanta on third down, which Hamilton flagged himself. "The third-down stuff was crazy," he said.
- 7:03: the length of Baltimore's overtime touchdown drive, 14 plays of pure clock theft.
First Place, a Backup Quarterback and a Lot of Belief
The Ravens are 4-1, perfect on the road at 3-0, and per the AP they now have sole possession of first place in the AFC North. Their only loss is a 24-17 home defeat to New Orleans back in Week 2. Up next is a trip to Cleveland.
"If we let it be, this can be a launching point for us to really get this thing rolling," Minter said.
Atlanta drops to 2-3 and 0-2 at home, a gut punch after back-to-back road wins over Green Bay and New Orleans. Penix predicted he will return next week from the rib injury, with Chicago coming to town.
"We didn't do enough to win the game," Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski said.
Hometown Kid, Hometown Ending
Hamilton, a Marist School product, put a very specific number on his personal cheering section. "I probably know 500 people or something in the stadium right now," he said. "It was a pretty special moment."
This ending played like a post-credits scene: you thought the story was over at 23-15, and the real plot twist was still loading. Hamilton summed up the quarterback situation better than anyone. "When Snoop gets a chance to go out there, it's a Snoop game. It's not a backup quarterback," he said. Baltimore is not arguing.
